Today will be a longer day, so after an early breakfast, leave Hurghada and drive to Luxor. The trip takes you away from the Red Sea and into the Nile Valley. The landscape changes along the way, and you’ll start seeing more farmland and villages as you get closer to Luxor.
Your first stop is Karnak Temple. Karnak is a huge complex, so there’s plenty to see. You’ll walk through areas filled with enormous columns, statues, obelisks, courtyards, and ancient carvings. It’s one of the places where you really get a sense of how large and important ancient Thebes was.
After visiting Karnak, head to the viewing location arranged for 2027 Solar Eclipse in Egypt. The eclipse is expected to begin at around 12:00 PM, with the maximum phase at approximately 1:00 PM.
This will be the unusual part of the trip. You’re not just visiting Luxor to see the temples; you’ll also be here for a rare astronomical event. Watching the eclipse from the Nile Valley, with Luxor’s ancient landscape around you, will make the experience quite different from a normal day of sightseeing.
After the eclipse, continue to Luxor Temple. The temple is located in the middle of the modern city, so you’ll see a very different atmosphere here compared with Karnak. You’ll walk among ancient statues and columns while the sounds of modern Luxor continue outside.
Once you finish the visit, have some time for lunch before starting the drive back to Hurghada. You’ll arrive back at the hotel in the evening and have the rest of the night to relax after the long day.
